Text on image

Add captions with control over font, colour and shadow.

How to use Text on image

  1. Drop an image onto the upload area.
  2. Click Add text and type your text. Add more text layers if you need them.
  3. Pick a font, colour and size, and add a shadow if you want one.
  4. Drag the text directly on the image to position it.
  5. Choose an output format under Save as and click Download.

Whether it's a caption for a social post, a label pointing at part of a screenshot, or a quote over a photo, adding text directly to an image is faster than opening a design tool for a one-off edit. Add as many text layers as you need, drag each one into place, and download the finished picture.

Every layer gets its own font, size and colour, plus an optional drop shadow — the shadow is what keeps light-coloured text readable over a busy or light background without needing a solid box behind it.

The image is composited entirely on a canvas in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and the download reflects exactly what you see in the preview.

Questions

Can I add more than one line of text?

Yes — click "Add text" as many times as you need. Each one is an independent layer you can select, edit and drag separately.

How do I move the text?

Click a layer to select it, then drag it directly on the image. There's no separate position field — the canvas is the control.

Why does my chosen font look slightly different?

The font list uses common system fonts (Arial, Georgia, Courier New, Impact, Comic Sans) so the preview and the download always match exactly, regardless of which fonts happen to be installed on your device.

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. Text is drawn directly onto a canvas in your browser and the file never leaves your device.
