PNG to JPG
Convert PNG to JPG. Transparent areas fill white, not black.
How to use PNG to JPG
- Drop your PNG files onto the upload area.
- Set the JPG quality with the slider.
- Click Convert.
- Download each JPG, or click Download all for a zip.
PNG supports transparency and JPG doesn't, so converting between them raises a question most converters skip past: what should the transparent parts of the image become? Left unhandled, browsers typically fill transparent pixels with black when encoding to JPG, which is rarely what anyone actually wants. This tool fills transparent areas with white before encoding, which is the right default for the overwhelming majority of photos and graphics.
Everything else works the way you'd expect: the PNG is decoded and re-encoded as JPG using the browser's own image codec, entirely on your device. Nothing is uploaded, so there's no per-file size limit.
Drop in one file or a batch — if you convert more than one, download them all together as a ZIP.
Questions
Why does my transparent PNG turn black when I convert it elsewhere?
JPG has no alpha channel, so something has to fill the transparent pixels. Most converters default to black without asking. This tool fills with white instead, which is the right answer for the vast majority of images.
What if my PNG doesn't have any transparency?
Then nothing changes — the white fill only affects pixels that were actually transparent to begin with.
Will the JPG be smaller than the PNG?
Almost always, often substantially. PNG is lossless; JPG's compression is both lossy and more efficient, so the same image typically comes out several times smaller.
Can I convert many files at once?
Yes — drop in as many PNGs as you like in one go. There's no per-file or batch limit set by the site.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Decoding and re-encoding both happen in your browser tab — the files never leave your device.
