Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

ihateimg.cv is built around one rule: the images and files you work with never leave your device. This page explains exactly what that means and what little data does get collected.

Your files

Every tool on this site — converting, compressing, cropping, watermarking, whatever — runs entirely in your browser using standard web APIs (Canvas, OffscreenCanvas, Web Workers). When you drop a file into a tool, it is decoded and processed on your own device and never transmitted to any server. We have no upload endpoint for image files and no way to see the contents of anything you process here, because it never reaches us.

Accounts and sign-up

There are none. You don't need to register, log in, or provide an email address to use any tool. We don't hold a database of users.

Analytics

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site — things like which pages get traffic, where people click, and where they get stuck. Clarity can set cookies and record anonymised session behaviour (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling). It never has access to the files you process, since those never leave your browser tab in the first place. Clarity sessions recorded during local development are excluded. You can read Microsoft's own privacy documentation for Clarity at the link above.

Cookies

Aside from the analytics cookies described above, this site does not use cookies for tracking, advertising, or authentication — there's nothing to authenticate. Some tools may use your browser's local storage to remember a preference (like a slider value) purely on your own device; that data is never sent anywhere.

Server logs

Like effectively every website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs for the pages you request (IP address, browser type, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention. These logs never contain the contents of any file you process, because that processing happens client-side and nothing is uploaded.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. Since there are no accounts and no file uploads, there is effectively no personal data for us to collect from any visitor, regardless of age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
