Colour picker

Sample any pixel and copy the hex.

How to use Colour picker

  1. Drop an image onto the upload area.
  2. Move your cursor over the image to preview the colour of each pixel.
  3. Click to sample a colour. It is added to your list of samples.
  4. Click a sample to copy its hex code, or click Clear to start over.

Move over the image and the preview swatch updates live with the exact pixel underneath your cursor — hex, RGB and HSL all at once. Click to lock it in: the hex code is copied to your clipboard immediately and the sample is added to a running list below.

Every value comes from the image's own decoded pixel data, not an approximation — what you click is exactly what you get, down to the exact colour of that single pixel.

For the overall colour scheme of an image rather than one exact point, use the colour palette extractor instead — it clusters the whole image into its dominant colours rather than sampling a single pixel.

Questions

How precise is the sample — is it really that exact pixel?

Yes. The image is decoded once and its pixel data is read directly, so the colour you copy is the exact stored value at that coordinate, not a blurred or averaged approximation.

Can I sample more than one colour?

Yes — every click adds to the list below (up to the last 24), and clicking any past sample copies its hex again.

What's the difference between this and the palette extractor?

This samples one exact pixel per click. The palette extractor analyses the whole image at once and returns its several most dominant colours — use whichever matches what you're actually trying to do.

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. The image is decoded and sampled entirely in your browser — it never leaves your device.
