AVIF to JPG
Convert AVIF files into universally readable JPGs.
How to use AVIF to JPG
- Drop your AVIF files onto the upload area, or click to browse. Any number of files works.
- Set the JPG quality with the slider.
- Click Convert.
- Download each JPG, or click Download all to get them as a zip.
AVIF produces smaller files than JPG at the same quality, but it's a newer format and support for opening it is still uneven outside the browser — older photo viewers, some editors and plenty of upload forms don't recognise it. Converting to JPG trades a bit of file size for compatibility with essentially everything.
This converter decodes the AVIF using your browser's own image codec — decoding AVIF is well supported everywhere by now, even in browsers that can't create new AVIF files — and re-encodes it as JPG on your device. Nothing is uploaded to a server first.
Drop in one file or a batch — if you convert more than one, download them all together as a ZIP.
Questions
Will this work for any AVIF file?
If your browser can display the AVIF at all, it can decode it here too. The rare case where it fails is usually a corrupted or incomplete file rather than a compatibility gap.
Will the JPG be bigger than the AVIF?
Usually yes. AVIF's compression is more efficient than JPG's, so representing the same detail in JPG typically costs more bytes.
Can I convert many files at once?
Yes — drop in as many AVIF files as you like in one go. There's no per-file or batch limit set by the site.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Decoding and re-encoding both happen in your browser tab — the files never leave your device.
