How to use Add border

  1. Drop your images onto the upload area, click to browse, or paste one from the clipboard. You can add as many files as you like.
  2. Pick a border thickness in pixels, or enter a custom value.
  3. Choose a colour: white, black, transparent, or a custom colour.
  4. Choose the output format under Save as, then click Add border.
  5. Download each image individually, or click Download all to get them as a zip.

This adds an even band of padding around every edge of the image, rather than cropping into it — the photo itself is untouched and the canvas grows outward. A white border is the classic instant-photo look; a matching background colour can make a product photo sit better in a grid; a transparent border adds breathing room around a logo without baking a colour into the file.

Thickness is one number applied to all four sides equally. Pick a colour from the presets, set a custom one, or choose transparent — a transparent border needs a format that supports it, so JPG drops out of the format list whenever it's selected.

Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded, so there's no per-file limit. Drop in a batch, set the thickness and colour once, and apply it to all of them together.

Questions

Does the border replace part of the image or add to it?

It adds to it — the canvas grows by the border thickness on every side, and the original image is placed inside unchanged. Nothing gets cropped.

Why did JPG disappear from the format list?

It only disappears when the border colour is set to transparent — JPG has no alpha channel, so it can't store a transparent area. Pick PNG or WebP instead, or switch the border to a solid colour to bring JPG back.

Can I set a different thickness per side?

No — the thickness applies evenly to all four sides. For uneven padding, this isn't the right tool.

Can I add a border to a lot of photos at once?

Yes — drop in as many as you like and the same thickness and colour apply to the whole batch.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. The border is drawn entirely in your browser — the files never leave your device.
