How to use MP3 to MP4

  1. 01Drop an MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG or FLAC file onto the upload area.
  2. 02Add a cover image if you want one, or keep a plain colour background.
  3. 03Pick a size: Square, Reels 9:16 or YouTube 16:9, and turn the waveform or a title on or off.
  4. 04Click Convert to MP4, then Download MP4.

Most places you want to share a voice note, a podcast clip or a song only accept video. YouTube, Instagram and WhatsApp status all need an MP4, and an audio file on its own won't upload. This tool wraps your audio in a video: a picture on screen for the whole length of the track, with your sound unchanged underneath.

Everything happens in your browser. The audio is decoded on your device, each frame is drawn onto a canvas, and the browser's own video encoder (WebCodecs) turns the frames into H.264 while the sound is encoded as AAC. Nothing is uploaded, so a private voice recording never leaves your computer or phone, and there is no queue or file size cap from a server.

The waveform option draws bars that pulse with the loudness of the audio, which makes a still picture feel alive in a feed. Without it, the video uses a very low frame rate, so the file stays small and the conversion takes seconds.

Questions

Is my audio uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read and encoded inside your browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server.

Which audio formats work?

Anything your browser can play: MP3, WAV, M4A and AAC, OGG and Opus, and FLAC in most browsers.

Does the audio quality drop?

The sound is re-encoded at 128 kbps, as AAC (the standard for video sites) or as Opus in browsers that can't encode AAC, so the difference isn't noticeable for voice or music. The video track never touches the audio.

Which browsers are supported?

Recent Chrome and Edge on desktop and Android work best. The tool uses WebCodecs; if your browser doesn't support it, you'll see a message instead of the Convert button working.

How long can the audio be?

There's no set limit. Longer files take longer and use more memory, so an hour-long recording is better done on a computer than a phone.
