Favicon generator
Export every favicon size plus the manifest snippet.
How to use Favicon generator
- Drop a square-ish logo onto the upload area and adjust the 1:1 crop.
- Enter your site name and theme colour for the web manifest.
- Click Generate favicons.
- Click Download all to get every icon size and the manifest, then copy the HTML snippet into your <head>.
A modern site needs more than one favicon file: a classic multi-resolution .ico for older browsers, separate PNGs at 16px and 32px, a 180px apple-touch-icon for iOS home screens, and 192px/512px icons referenced from a web app manifest for Android and PWA installs. This generates the full set from one image in one pass.
Crop to a square first — favicons need to be square, and the crop box lets you choose which part of a non-square logo to keep. Add a site name and theme colour and they're baked straight into the generated manifest.
Download the whole set as a zip, drop the files into your site's public root, and paste the provided snippet into your page's <head>.
Questions
Where do these files go?
Every file in the zip is meant to sit at your site's root (the same level as index.html) — that's the path the generated snippet and manifest both assume.
Do I still need the .ico file in 2026?
Most current browsers will happily use the PNG favicons, but a handful of older browsers and some OS-level bookmark/shortcut icons still only look for favicon.ico — it costs nothing to include, so this generates it regardless.
What's the manifest actually for?
It's what Android and other browsers read to know your site's name, theme colour and icon when someone installs it to their home screen as a web app. Without it, Android install prompts fall back to a generic icon.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. Every size is rendered directly on a canvas in your browser — the file never leaves your device.
